Strategic Vision

TCSA Strategic Plan

An organization like the TCSA that has so much annual turnover, can loose sight of the its longterm vision. As President of the TCSA I would ensure that a strategic plan for the association was complete to open up conversation for students to voice their ideas about the future of the Association. To be most effective we can't just be thinking about the next 10 weeks but also the next 10 years.

For the university and association to be successful we both need to know where we have been, where we are, and always be thinking about where we are going!

The TCSA currently completes an annual plan that is reflective of the goals and ideas of the executive. To ensure that all voices within the association are being heard and integrated, this plan should also be open to the other members of the board including equity commissioners.

Over the last two years the university has seen over a 15% increase in enrolment. This is exciting news to see that more students are seeing the value of an education at Trent, but this expansion must also be coupled by increasing the amount of student space. The Student Centre is a step in the right direction, but its not enough. The continued use of private residents buildings is an unsustainable for the collegiate system and is moving away from the foundation that founded this university. The administration is having consistent conversations about the size of the university, and as students we need to be having these conversations as well!
